Tejal Shah
Senior Portfolio Director
Tejal joined the Fund for New York City Public Schools in 2024 as a Senior Portfolio Director. In this role, Tejal is responsible for managing all aspects of the grant development process-- including establishing and managing relationships with funders, and working with NYC Public Schools’ teams to develop project proposals and monitor implementation to ensure coordination with funders. Prior to joining The Fund, Tejal worked in the NYCPS Division of Early Childhood Education for almost 8 years as a project manager supporting: Program Assessment, Data and Analytics, and Policy and Strategy, focusing primarily on operations, process design, and systems development. Previously, during her 12-year tenure at the College Board, she worked as a portfolio manager for the Research and Analysis department, as an analyst and project manager on the SAT team, and as a project manager on the launch of the Advanced Placement Computer Science Principles course with the National Science Foundation. Tejal earned her bachelor's degree in economics and psychology from the University of Connecticut, a masters degree in educational studies from the University of Michigan, and a masters of public administration from New York University. She also holds the project management professional (PMP) certification.
