Teacher Pipeline

New York City Public Schools (NYCPS) is at a growth point for teacher recruitment where we want to be responsive to the growing needs of our schools for well-prepared, supported teachers who are reflective of our school communities. In this moment of scaling our teaching workforce, we will innovate how we prepare and certify our teachers by intentionally removing unnecessary barriers into the profession, designing high-quality preparation experiences and thoughtfully supporting our school leaders to grow and support their staff, and we will establish and scale robust teacher career pathway programs that will build from many successful initiatives like NYC Men Teach, the Career Training Program, and the newly established Future Ready Education pathway to create opportunities for students, paraprofessionals and community members.
